BCCK celebrates 37th foundation day of All India Mahila Congress

Kakching Block Congress Committee (BCCK) celebrated the 37th foundation day of the All India Mahila Congress at its office today and extended warm welcome to retired Executive Engineer, Yengkhom Nilachandra and other new members of the party.
BCCK president Ksh Ibohal Singh; Mahila Congress Kakching president M Pishak Devi; BCCK advisors, P Kunjo, P Nimai and P Chaoba; BCCK vice president Th Sanatomba, treasurers, Y Achou, M Memcha; ex-Chairperson of KMC (Kakching Municipal Council) M Inakhunbi; ex-vice Chairperson M Uma Devi and Yengkhom Nilachandra Singh attended the event as dignitaries.
During the event, BCCK president Ksh Ibohal lauded Y Nilachandra for his social work and extended welcome to the new members.
He stressed the importance of the Mahila Congress and encouraged its members to strengthen the party before the by-elections.
Success of the Congress in elections greatly depends on its women wing, he said.
Yengkhom Nilachandra also spoke about the role of women in society in general and stated that women have a greater role to play in lifting the society or the party to new heights.
He acknowledged the contributions of elders and leaders who helped shape the present Kakching and appreciated organisations and institutions based in Kakching such Kakching Dramatic Union, Sahitya Seva Samiti Manipur and Library and Information Centre Kakching for their contributions toward development of Kakching and Manipur as a whole.
He particularly mentioned that the Sahitya Seva Samiti Manipur had organised SSS MANIFA recognising and promoting Manipur film industry.
He also provided monetary assistance to Kakching Mahila Congress and BCCK.
The programme was held following COVID-19 protocols.
