MPCC donates items to Home

As part of the 69th birthday celebration of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) donated ration and stationery items to the Girls' Home run by Nongpok Maheikol, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai yesterday.
Speaking at a function held at Nongpok Maheikol, Deputy Chief Minister advised the inmates of the Girls' Home to be tolerant and committed like Sonia Gandhi.
Lauding the women founders for setting up the home exclusively meant for girl inmates, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed hope that all the inmates of the home would become responsible citizens.
Saying that the State Government would extend all possible assistance to the home, Gaikhangam advised the inmates to work hard with determination and courage.
Home founder H Memtombi said that different sections of the society and organisations have been extending support to the home which was established in 2004 .
Saying that the home is run by a group of women, she said that many destitute girls are being given education by the home.
She further said that some of the inmates are currently pursuing Graduation.
Ration items like rice, pulses, potatoes and edible oil and stationery items like exercise books and pens were handed over to the home authority at the function.
Works Minister Kh Ratankumar, Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Hill Areas Committee (HAC) Chairman Dr Chaltolien Amo, Thanga AC MLA and PDA Chairman T Mangibabu, Parliamentary Secretaries Victor Keishing and K Meghachandra, MLA E Chand, MPCC officer bearers, Congress leaders and workers and frontal cells chiefs also attended the function.
