Indo-Myanmar meet

A meeting was held at Tamu Township Army Headquarters Office between India and Myanmar with Commerce and Industry Minister Govindas Konthoujam and N Nandakumar Consulate General Embassy of India, Mandalay representing India and Union Minister Heu Khin Mg Soe and Minister of Sagaigang region H Eu Kya Win representing Myanmar.
In the meeting, engineers from Power Departments of both the countries were present and the main objective of the meeting was to deliver the proposed Hydro Power Plant sponsored by India.
Minister Govindas Konthoujam urged the Myanmarese delegates to extend support to the proposed Integrated Check Post (ICP) which will be opened to boost trade relation with Myanmar.
He also urged the Myanmarese delegates to release the six Manipuris which were held by Myanmar forces and the Myanmarese delegate too gave a positive reply that the captives will be considered for release as soon as possible.
Nine delegates from India and ten delegates from Myanmar were present in the meeting.
