Medical camp at Ukhrul

A one-day free, medical camp was organised by Manipur Development Agency under the auspices of Health Department Family Welfare Department and JNIMS at Muirei village in Ukhrul district.
The camp provided facilities for medical examination and necessary medicines to people of 15 villagers spread over Ukhrul, Senapati and Imphal East districts.
Talking about the medical camp, Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Ram Muivah said that Muirei and adjoining villages are not very far from Imphal but there are no health care facilities in the area.
Most of the people living in this area are poor and disadvantaged.
That is why the medical camp was conducted at Muirei, Muivah said.
The medical camp was conducted by not less than 10 doctors including CMO's of Ukhrul and Imphal East districts and a team of para-medical staff.
Apart from examination of sick people, HIV test and ultrasonography were also conducted free of cost.
Moreover, stalls which were aimed educating the people about TB.
Malaria and HIV AIDS were opened at the camp.
It is said that a similar medical camp would be organised by Manipur Development Agency and Kanglei Sports Academy at Kyamgei Heibong Makhong on February 17 .
