Imphal, November 01 2012:
All Manipur Students Guardians' Association (AMSGA) has appealed to all the private practicing lawyers not to fight cases in favour of the two accused who are allegedly involved in the rape of a student of TG Higher Secondary School.
Addressing media persons at its Palace Compound office there today, Advisor of AMSGA Namoijam Tomba, said that the main role of being a guardian is to save the student community.
Education would be meaningless if there are no students.
As such, the organization strongly condemned the rape of a student of TG Higher Secondary School.
He pointed out that William, one of the accused rapists is a police commando who is supposed to safeguard the life of the people while Th Tarun, other rape accused, is an artist whom everyone should respects because of the important role of the artists in the society.
However, the act committed by the two accused have spoilt the images of their respective professions.
Considering the unforgiveable act carried out by the two accused persons, no lawyer should lend a helping hand in fighting their cases or move bail application on their favour, Tomba observed, while urging for giving capital punishment to the two rape accused.
