Reflecting the pathetic state of Government runs schools, 49 Government schools drew blank in the HSLC exam 2010, without a single student making it to the pass list.
This has been the trend for some years now.
This is against the total number of 200 Government schools whose students appeared for the Board exam.
On the other hand, out of 475 private schools whose students appeared in the said exam, 21 schools recorded zero pass percentage.
In this connection, action initiated by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) to penalise schools if it continues with such shoddy performance for three years, was not always received well by the Education Department.
Out of 81 Government aided schools, 25 schools recorded zero pass percentage.
District-wise, Imphal West has 53 Government schools out of which 21 could not produce a single student who could pass the Board exam.
Eight schools, out of 108 private schools located in Imphal West district, drew blank in HSLC Exam 2010.Among 21 aided schools of the district, all the students of seven schools failed in the exam.
In Imphal East district, 10 Government schools had none of their students passed the Board exam.
This was against 37 total Government schools.
The number of private schools which drew blank was nine as against 89 private schools.
Out of 22 aided schools, eight schools recorded zero pass percentage, not a single student pass the exam from eight schools.
Against 25 Government schools located in Bishnupur district, four schools drew blank.
One private school, out of 35 private schools, failed to produce a single successful HSLC candidate.
Two aided schools of Bishnupur district recorded zero pass percentage out of 10 total aided schools.
The total number of Government schools, private schools and aided schools in Thoubal district are 24, 77 and 22 respectively whereas the number of schools which recorded zero pass percentage are 24 Government schools, seven private schools and eight aided schools.
The number of Government schools, and private schools in Ukhrul district are 27 and 22.While three Government schools drew blank, three private schools could not produce any student eligible to appear the Board exam.
Out of seven Government schools located in Chandel district, one school failed to produce a single student who could clear the exam.
There were 20 private schools in the district, out of which one school recorded zero pass percentage.
Four Government schools out of 27 located in Churachandpur district were nil in terms of pass percentage.
Against 50 private schools located in the district, eight could not produce even a single student eligible to appear the HSLC Exam 2010 .
For Tamenglong district, four Government schools recorded zero pass percentage.
There was no private or aided school whose pass percentage was nil.
Two Government schools out of 13 located in Senapati district drew blank.
Again two private schools out of 58 located in the district recorded zero pass percentage.
Out of four aided schools, only one could produce successful students.
