Committee visits centres, distributes aids

To spread awareness to the general public, COVID-19 CQC Management Committee formed under 47-Karong Assembly Constituency continued to visit various CQCs in the constituency.
The committee formed with its local MLA as the chairperson, PP Ronald, SDO, Purul as the convenor, Tholu Rocky, Addl SP, Dr Thoho, MO incharge, Phaibung Khullen PHC, RK Kaba, Social worker and S Thaile, social worker as members of the committee has been giving awareness and distributing aids under MLAD fund to various QCs.
Coming to TNK, Senapati village, social worker S Thaile stated that a sum of Rs 7,000 was donated to big villages and Rs 5,000 to small villages to effectively run the Community Quarantine Centres located at various villages under the constituency.
The social leader urged the village leaders not to stick with fear psychosis about the disease but to give awareness to the public.
Dr Thoho, MO in charge, Phaibung Khullen PHC urged all to follow safety measures and sanitise any suspected areas to stop or slow the spread of novel coronavirus.
He stated that hand gloves, face masks, bleaching powder, hand sanitizers were distributed for public safety.
PP Ronald stated that the team would cover more than 50 different villages that fall under the constituency cutting across Tadubi Sub-Division, Senapati Sub-Division, Phaibung Khullen Sub-Division, Paomata Sub-Division and Purul Sub-Division.
On the other hand, the Sangkumai Outpost, BCOY of 34 Assam Rifles led by its Asst Commandant, PHC, Bendramai and PHSC Willong had reportedly donated a huge quantity of first aid medicines and other medical items for the civilian.
It may be noted that the PHC, Bendramai covers 24 villages including PHSC, Willong for health programmes.
In a statement issued by Dr James Pao, Sr MO in-charge, PHC, Bendramai, he mentioned that the donation would be of immense help to the villagers during this hard time.
