A State native has been found killed and abandoned at Madhya Pradesh village said to be a Naxal stronghold.
The victim namely Hemam Madhop alias Mahendra (30) was the son of H Gopal of Sagolband Kangabam Leikai and his corpse was found on May 6 morning from MP's remote Pagdhal village which is under Shivpur police station.
local guardian RK Kanta, quoted Shivpur police station's investigating officer as saying that the State native had head injuries and might have been killed on May 5 night.
Madhop, who was an employee of Kwality Ice Cream Company, Mumbai reportedly returned home some six month ago to attend a religious ceremony.
He left Imphal for Mumbai on april 30 to join another company, recounted family members.
After Madhya Pradesh police contacted on May 8, family members reached Shivpur on May 11 but on enquiry were told that Madhop's body had already been buried in a village called Sioni Malwa.
With kanta identifying that the deceased was Madhop from the photographs and clothes kept by the MP police symbolic cremation was re-performed by consigning the victim's belongings to fire as per religious norm, the guardian said.
The also said MP police quoted locals as saying that Madhop was last seen in Pagdhal village.
