Prominent Hmar leader passes away

Prominent and well respected leader among the Hmar community and a senior citizen of Churachandpur, Manipur Daineikung Pudaite passed away after suffering from BP stroke here on Saturday at 1:30 AM.
He was 67 .
According to family sources, Daineikung Pudaite was on a business trip to Guwahati, and then came to Shillong to visit his youngest daughter, who is doing her Master.
Puidate suffered from a BP stroke on Friday morning and was admitted to a private hospital.
Being a respected leader of the Hmar community, late Pudaite was actively involved in social, educational, cultural and religious activities.
He was the President of Khongsai Inpi Churachandpur Region at the time of his demise.
Pudaite was also the Former President of the Hmar Youth Association-the largest philanthropic organization of the Hmars.
Also, he was the founding member of Bethesda Nursing School, Muolvaiphei, Churandchandpur.
A short condolence service was held in Shillong and a large number of people from the Hmar community - Church leaders and members, student leaders and various philanthropic organizations, thronged to pay their last respect and bid tearful adieu to the departed leader.
The body of late Pudaite will be brought to Rengkai, Churachandpur via Dimapur by road Saturday evening.
The funeral programme will be held on Monday at his residence at Rengkai.
Sincere, harmless, altruistic and affable leader, Daineikung Pudaite is survived by his wife, three daughters and his son.
