Imphal, January 19, 2012:
Criticising Congress rule of 10 years which failed to bring any major development in the state, BJP MP Hema Malini today said that BJP rule in the state will bring development in all spheres of the society.
Speaking during an election campaign held at the Thoubal Ningombam Mini Stadium, Hema Malini said that Manipur is a beautiful land with its own rich culture and traditions.
It is also famous for its rich arts and sports.
Even though she witnessed some changes in the state when she last visited 10 years back, the changes, as compared to other states of India especially the BJP ruled states, are pretty marginal and Manipur has still miles to go in the sphere of development, she said and urged the people of the state to vote for BJP and elect BJP candidates to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly to bring major changes in the state.
She further noted that parents in the state are sending their children to other states for their study since the state lacks reputed institution to pursue higher studies to further their careers.
Moreover, the condition of transportation, power and safe drinking water is at its worst in the state.
Assuring the people a visible change in the state if BJP forms the next government, she said that BJP National Secretary Nitin Gadkari is planning many developmental projects for Manipur.
She also said that BJP is not a party for a single religion, but the party has Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and people of other religion as its members.
