Jiri VDF personnel to leave posts

Alleging that they have not been paid since the last three months, O Bishembar Singh, president Jiribam Village Defence Force Welfare Association, has said that the VDF personnel in the district will be forced to leave their respective posts ithey are not paid by October 25 .
"If the Government fails to release the due pay of the three months by October 25, VDF personnel will leave their posts from November 6," he said.
He said this during a cleanliness drive at Jiribam's Babupara and Jiri Bazar organised by Jiribam District Police in connection with the 127th raising day and martyrs day of Manipur Police on October 19 and 21 .
The cleanliness drive was conducted under the aegis of Jiribam SP M Mubi.
Speaking to media persons, M Mubi said that Manipur Police will celebrate its raising day on October 19 and martyrs day on October 21.The drive was held to spread awareness about cleanliness and hygiene among the people, he said and called for support and better co-operation between the Police and the public.
