Tricolor flag hoisted across the State in celebration of 74th Independence Day of India

Imphal, August 16 2020: Amidst the ongoing pandemic and lockdown, the 74th Independence Day was observed all across the State by the various District Administrations, Government Departments, bodies and others.

Ukhrul
In Ukhrul district, the District Administration successfully organised Independence Day celebration at the Mini Secretariat compound on August 15, amidst covid 19 pandemic lockdown by maintaining proper SOP.

The tricolour National flag was hoisted by the Deputy Commissioner Joseph Pauline Kamson, IAS in the presence of ADC Chairman, his colleagues, all DLOs and their staffs.

Contingents from the Manipur Police, Manipur Rifles and Ex- Servicemen took the honour of the parade command.

DC as the chief guest delivered speech to the gathering which was followed by distribution of appreciation certificates to frontline workers of Covid-19 from health department, police and CSOs of the district.

The administration also gave away commendable certificates to various departmental staff for services rendered.

Tamenglong
The District Administration of Tamenglong celebrated the 74th Indian Independence Day with much fervour at Haipou Jadonang Park Ground, Tamenglong District Headquarters.

Armstrong Pame IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong, unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya Salute from Manipur Police and 5th Manipur Rifles.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Pame extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic especially the medical staff, police department as well as the other departments.

He also congratulated 30 merit students of the district on winning scholarship and certificate for excellent performance in the X and XII exams.

Credentials awards and appreciation certificate were also given out to many government employees and institutions.

Senapati
The 74th Indian Independence Day celebration was held at Mini Secretariat complex, Senapati, organised by the District Administration.

Speaking as the chief guest, DC Th Kirankumar, IAS lauded the frontline workers of the district.

The celebration witnessed the presence of District Level Officers, staff of the District Administration, some CSO leaders and the Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati Branch.

Presentation and guard of honour was presented by District Police contingent while the chief guest hoisted the tricolour National flag and received salute from the gathering.

The District Administration awarded commendation certificates to outstanding 30 departmental staff & officials, 14 school Principals, 10 frontline workers, 11 Government teachers, 14 police personnel and 11 members of the IRCS, Senapati Branch Youth Brigade.

The Independence Day celebration was also observed in the Mao-Maram Sub-Division Headquarters, Tadubi, where SDO Krishna Kumar, IAS, hoisted the National flag.

Various other District Administrations of the State also observed the 74th Independence Day, including District Administration of Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Tengnoupal and Chandel amongst others.

RIMS
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) also celebrated the 74th Independence Day in RIMS.

Prof A Santa Singh, Director RIMS, hoisted the National flag, followed by an award function where the Director handed cash awards to Prof Ch Arunkumar Singh, Medical Superintendent RIMS, Prof Kh Sulochana Devi, Professor in-charge of Virology Research & Diagnostic Lab, Prof Kh Ranjana Devi, Head of Department of Microbiology RIMS, Prof Th Suraj Singh, Professor in-charge of Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit, Sh Lata Devi, Nursing Superintendent RIMS, Manihar Singh, Chief Security Officer of MSS and L Hemchandra Singh, vice-president of CRED.

The Director also announced that a 'Help Desk, will be open in RIMS Hospital specially for patients coming from far flung areas.

The function was attended by Medical Superintendent, RIMS, Principal of Dental College and College of Nursing, Heads of Departments, senior officials, faculty members, nursing officials, staff, civil security and health workers of CRED.

High Court of Manipur
The 74th Independence Day was celebrated at the High Court of Manipur and other subordinate Courts on August 15.Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur, Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, hoisted the National flag while 182 Battalion BSF took guard of honour and gave the Rashtriya salute.

The celebration was attended by Justice Lunusungkum Jamir, Justice Kh Nobin, Justice MV Muralidaran, Justice A Bimol, Advocate General N Kumarjit, president, High Court of Manipur, N Ibotombi, Senior Advocate, members of the Bar, staff and officers of the High Court.

On the occasion, Chief Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar released the newsletter 2019, which highlights the achievements and activities of the High Court of Manipur, District Courts, Manipur Legal Services Authority and Manipur Judicial Academy.

At Cheirap Court complex, Maibam Manojkumar District and session Judge Imphal East hosted the tricolor National Flag in the presence of Rk Memcha, District and session Judge Imphal West.

The day was also observed at Manipur Legal service Authority (MASLSA) ADR centre, Lamphel court complex and member secretary MASLSA Golmei Gaiphulshillu hosted the tricolour flag followed by salute and National Anthem.

Ojesh Mutum Additional Member secretary MASLSA, K Nirojit, secy District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West and Imphal East, S Sadananda, deputy member secy MASLSA and staff members of the State Legal Services Authority.

Units and Sectors under command of HQ IGAR (South) also celebrated the 74th Independence Day, 2020 throughout the State.

9 Sector Assam Rifles alongwith all its Battalions celebrated this significant day along with students and parents of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) .

Independence Day celebration was also observed at the office complex of ADC Moreh which was attended by ADC Moreh L Manikanta as chief guest along with SDO Irengbam Dinesh, SDC Brajendra, ASP (LO) Sangboi Gante, OC Dilip Kumar and senior officers of AR.

L Manikanta hoisted the tricolor National Flag.
