District level 'Nasha Mukt Bharat' campaign launched

In a move to spread awareness against drug menace and to motivate the youth to stay away from drugs, the District Administration Imphal West has constituted a district-level 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee' on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday.
The committee has been formed as part of the commitment towards 'Nasha Mukt Bharat: Annual Action Plan (2020-21) for 272 Most Affected Districts' launched under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
DC N Praveen inaugurated the launched programme for Imphal West campaign at the Imphal West DC complex at Lamphelpat yesterday.
District Social Welfare Officer K Romen Singh also attended the programme.
Nine districts of the State have been selected for the Campaign and the launching programme was held yesterday organized by their respective District Administrations.
The Annual Action Plan for 2020-21 would focus on (272) most affected districts and launch a three-pronged attack combining efforts of the Narcotics Bureau, Outreach/Awareness by Social Justice and Treatment through the Health Department.
The Action Plan has the following components: Awareness generation programmes, focus on higher educational institutions, university campuses and schools, community outreach and identification of dependent population, Focus on treatment facilities in hospital settings, capacity building programmes for service providers.
The campaign will continue till March 21, 2021 .
The top three districts and top three States will be given National awards.
