International Mother's Day observed at various places

As observed across the country, Ningol Club, Heirok; CITY Club, Heirok and Service for Humanity, Heirok on Sunday jointly observed International Mother's Day by carrying out a free dental camp at Chingdompok High School, Heirok Part II .
The camp organised in collaboration with Indian Dental Association Manipur State Branch was attended by Ningthoujam Ibomcha, president CITY Club; Dr T Nabachandra Singh, immediate past president, IDA Manipur State Branch; Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA and Sophiya Khundongbam, president Ningol Club, Heirok as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr T Nabachandra stated that after a long gap due to COVID-19 pandemic, the camp was conducted to help the people in remote areas who have no access to medical care.

He also assured to conduct similar camps in other remote areas of the state.
A team of 35 doctors provided medical treatment and medicines to about 500 persons from Heirok and nearby villages of Tengnoupal district at the camp.
Moreover, in line with the observance of International Mother's Day, Ningthoujam Anjit of Heirok Part (ii) Tomal Makhong Ningthoujam Leikai provided food items in memory of her late mother to women vendors of Heirok Keithel.
It may be mentioned that Ningthoujam Anjit is a Dr Ambedkar Fellowship awardee who is presently employed as a science teacher at Heirok High school.
Similarly, International Mother's Day was also observed on Sunday by all the Churches under Rongmei Baptist Churches Council (RBCC) with the theme, "Behold, your mother!" .
As part of the observance, Churches in Noney organised prayer sessions and presented gifts to women folk of the area.
In one such session, Rokungliu T Panmei, Zonal Director, RBCC Longmai Zone highlighted the roles played by mothers and urged all to give the proper respect and love to women.
