Death toll reaches 28 in Kpi

Kangpokpi, June 01 2021:
A woman from Irang Part-I in Kangpokpi district succumbed to COVID-19 on Tuesday morning at CCC Leikop, pushing the death toll in the district to 28 .
Dhan Maya (74) was admitted to the COVID Care Centre, Leikop on May 27 afternoon few days after undergoing treatment for fever at home.
She was brought to District Hospital, Kangpokpi after developing shortness of breath on May 27 and was found to be infected with COVID-19 .
She was then referred to the CCC Leikop.
According to her death report, the cause of death is cardiopulmonary arrest owing to Sar COV-2 (COVID-19) pneumonia.
With five new positive cases and another five being discharged in the past 24 hours, the number active cases stand at 85 .
Kangpokpi local bodies under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Committee announced Lockdown 3 in Kangpokpi district Headquarters after the lockdown 2 ended on May 30.Meanwhile, the COVID Task Force Kangpokpi in collaboration with the District Hospital authority and Kangpokpi Police conducted random mass testing on violators of COVID appropriate behaviour in public places.
Around 110 individuals were tested, of whom one from Gopibung, a passenger vehicle driver was found positive for COVID-19.The positive patient was taken by the medical team and Kangpokpi police to his residence for home isolation.
