Steps on to regularize all in-charge posts in Education

In a move to do away with all the 'in-charge' posts in the State Education Department, conduct of DPC to appoint regular staffs has been initiated.
According to a reliable source, the State Government has started conducting DPC to serve regular appointments for various 'in-charge' posts in the Education Department.
So far, 22 regular Principals and 22 Vice Principals of Higher Secondary Schools have been appointed through a DPC which was conducted yesterday i.e.on February 28 .
Since a total number of 10 Vice Principals have been promoted to the post of Principals, there are vacancies for another 10 posts of Vice Principals, and these posts would also be filled up shortly through DPC.
The source further disclosed in the DPC conducted yesterday, 170 posts of Assistant Headmasters of High Schools and Headmasters of Junior High School have also been appointed on regular basis.
As such, the vacant posts of headmasters in Government High Schools would also be filled up gradually.
Moreover, 110 posts of Assistant Headmasters and Headmasters of Junior High Schools are also set to be appointed through DPC very soon.
Along with regular appointment of 9 ZEOs, the State Government is also considering filling up the vacant posts of 800 Graduate Teachers through promotion basis from among the lower posts, i.e.the Primary and Matriculate teachers, the source added.
The Board members of the DPC which was conducted yesterday included Dr N Singsit, Chairman of MPSC; Dr J Suresh Babu, Principal Secretary (Home) and H Deleep, Director of Education (S) apart from one representative from the Department of Personnel, Government of Manipur.
Since Dr N Singsit retired from the Chairmanship of MPSC yesterday, the next round of DPC would have to be waited till the appointment of a new Chairman.
However, those DPCs which could be conducted without the presence of Chairman of MPSC would proceed ahead.
The source further informed that the posts of Joint Director, Assistant Director, AI/DI and other officers who are under the purview of the Manipur Education Service will also be appointed very soon.
