Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi's 'Kumbul Kithin 2021' held at Hengbung village

Kangpokpi, January 19 2021: The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district General Assembly otherwise known as "Kumbul Kithin 2021" was held yesterday at Hengbung village in Kangpokpi district, Sadar Hills.

The event was attended by the representatives of Sadar Hills Chiefs' Association; all the blocks of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi; CSOs of the district such as KSO Sadar Hills, KWU Sadar Hills; all the cognate tribe organisations namely Thadou Inpi, Vaiphei Peoples' Council, Komrem Union, Gangte Tribe Union; Kangpokpi Town Committee and Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation.

Address the event, Thangminlen Kipgen, general secretary of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi (KIK) welcomed all the assembled delegates and stressed on the importance of annual assembly, wherein he suggested all members participate in planning ahead for the development of the district and asked all the tribe organisations and CSOs to work together.

Jamsei .Haokip in his presidential address thanked all the delegates for their presence and expressed his gratitude to Haokholet Kipgen, chief of Hengbung village for his generosity in hosting the gathering.

As a newly elected president of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District, Jamsei Haokip shared his optimism in receiving full support from the elected representatives namely Yamthong Haokip of Saikul AC, Nemcha Kipgen of Kangpokpi AC and Ngamthang Haokip of Saitu AC.

The assembly deliberated on various pressing issues facing the district and resolved on various points to march ahead for the common good of Kangpokpi district.

It was also resolved that all land records of the district that are yet to be handed over to DC Kangpokpi should be returned as soon as possible and that Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi and its CSOs will take all the steps necessary to make it happen as the same had already been ordered by the State Government as well.

The assembly culminated with a blessing prayer from Pastor Letthong Haokip followed by a sumptuous feast that the host had arranged for the delegates.
