NH bandh called

Imphal, November 15 2017:
The All Tribal Contractors' Association of Manipur (ATCAM), has called a 48 hour bandh on the National Highways as well as all the district routes, from the midnight of November 19 till November 21 midnight, followed by an indefinite economic blockade.
A press release issued by the association accused the State Government of depriving the mandatory provision of concessional deposit of 50 percent of the standard amount of security deposit to SC/ST for the purpose of contract works.
It also alleged that the functioning of the District Head Offices in the State have failed and the State Government has also failed to release the pending liabilities of the Engineering Department mainly of works since the year 2000 for the tribal districts.
The association further stated that it submitted a memorandum to the State Government to take up necessary steps regarding the issues before November 19 adding that if it fails to provide a positive response by the said date, the association will launch a 48 hour bandh from the midnight of November 19 till November 21 midnight which will be followed by an indefinite economic blockade on the National Highways of the State.
