Land demarcation begins at Kumbi Uchanmakhong

Following the complaints received from the residents of Kumbi Municipal Council (KMC) regarding encroachment of public place along both sides of Leirak Achouba road that passes through Kumbi Uchanmakhong, at ward no 1 under KMC and to prevent encraochment of public places, a team led by SDC Kumbi, Yambem Haridas along with its staff, under the instruction of DC Bishnupur and SDO Moirang conducted demarcation work along the said stretch but their demarcation work could not done successfully as some of the area were allegedly encroached upon by the residents.
Regarding the dermarcation work, one of the locals said that a meeting was held on January 15 this year for proper demarcation along both sides of Leirak Achouba at Kumbi Uchanmakhong and later filed an application to Revenue Department to conduct the demarcation.
The local alleged that the stretch along Leirak Achouba is becoming narrower due to encroachment by the dwellers and as such it is imperative to demarcate the stretch properly to prevent further encroachment while urging the officials of DC and Revenue Department to conduct the demarcation in a proper way and public will extend full co-operation in their work.
Speaking to the media persons, SDC Kumbi Circle Mandal, H Rajmohon Singh said that they found some issues while demarcating along the stretch and assured the public that they will follow strict procedure as per the official map.
He also appealed to all the residents settled along the Leirak Achouba to cooperate with the officials and part ways land that are not registered in the map and patta so that the official can continue their demarcation work without any disturbance.
