Stolen vehicles recovered

One Bolero eep and a Honda car which were stolen from different places have been recovered by Imphal East commandos.
Speaking to media persons at Imphal East District Police Headquarters, Porompat this afternoon, ASP Moirangthem Rajen commandos picked up a Bolero jeep (MN-01W/8874) at about 3 pm of June 20 which was abandoned at Nongmeibung.
On investigation, it was learnt that the Bolero jeep belongs to the Spastic Society Manipur and it was stolen in the intervening night of June 14 and 15 .
As one FIR was registered at Imphal PS in connection with lifting of the jeep, the vehicle has been handed over to the police station, Rajen said.
On the other hand, acting on a specific tip-off, commandos found a Honda Jazz IVTEC car (MN-04A/6786) inside one automobile workshop Yaima Garage, located opposite to Porompat oil pump at about 8.30 am yesterday.
Further investigation revealed that the car was brought there by one Md Imran Khan (30) s/o Md Shahbuddin of Kyamgei Muslim Mayai Leikai.
It was found that the RC Book in possession of Imran was a forged one.
The car was registered in the name of M/S Bistech India Pvt Ltd based at Gurgaon, Haryana.
After it was established that the car was a stolen good, Imran Khan was pulled up.
With registration of a FIR case at Porompat PS, further investigation is being done, informed the ASP.
