Minister pledges Rs 10 lakh for hall construction

Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Ngamthang Haokip has pledged to donate Rs 10 lakh for the construction of P Moulding village community hall in Sadar Hills.
The Minister made the pledge while speaking at a felicitation function organised by P Moulding villagers and village authorities for him and Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council chairman Haokholal Hangsing today morning.
Expressing hope that chairman Haokholal also contribute his (financial) mite for construction of the hall, the Minister further informed the gathering that development/construction of approach road to P Moulding village, retaining walls and bridges would be initiated from the next fiscal.
In his brief statement, Haokholal conveyed gratitude to the Congress Government for the successful conduct of the ADC elections after a lapse of nearly 20 years.
Describing conduct of the ADC polls as one of the most cherished moments for the people of the hill areas, he asserted that every single penny provided to Sadar Hills ADC for development works would be utilised with transparency and purposefully.
Later in the day, the newly elected Sadar Hills ADC chairman assessed progress of work of the ADC office building construction.
Taking serious note of the Rs 50 lakh office construction work consuming nearly three months without much progress, chairman Haokholal strongly advised representative of the construction agency to ensure completion of the work at the earliest.
He regretted that non-completion of the office building had been hampering administrative work of the Sadar Hills ADC.
