Three Myanmar Nationals, a female and two juveniles, who were arrested by Singjamei police from Tulihal International Airport on April 14, were produced before the Court today, before being sent to Manipur Central Jail and the observation home respectively.
The three Myanmar Nationals, Dimkhawlnuam (25) d/o Thangkhanap of Tuinui village of Chin Myanmar and two other juveniles, were produced before the Court by a team of Singjamei police along with a prayer for judicial custody remand.
The Investigating Officer (IO) of the case, through APP, submitted that on April 14, at around 11 am, three Myanmar Nationals who were supposed to travel to Bangalore via Kolkata by an Indigo flight from Imphal, were detained by airport security while trying to board the flight carrying a driving license in their name issued by District Transport Officer Churachandpur district.
On enquiry they disclosed that they are Myanmar Nationals and produced an Aadhaar card in the name of Dimkhawlnuam.
During interrogation, Dimkhawlnuam had disclosed that she had visited Churachandpur three or four times earlier for medical treatment and marketing, through Behiang, a border area located at Churachandpur with Myanmar.
She further disclosed that in January 2016, while Visiting Churachandpur along with her friend, she came in contact with one Joseph of Churachandpur and through Josheph a fake Aadhaar card.
She revealed that in February, she went to Bangalore and with the help of one Pastor Russel Lalla of Baptist Church Bangalore where she got a job as a domestic helper.
After working for some time as domestic worker, she came back home to Myanmar with the permission of the owner.
By using the same fake Aadhaar card she came from Bangalore to Imphal and then travelled by road to her village on March 6, this year.
She further disclosed that she approached her uncle to take his juvenile son and daughter to Bangalore so that they can earn money to ensure better future for the family and also disclosed that through one local identified as Liana (38) of Baultal village Myanmar, she managed to get three fake driving licenses in her name as well as for the two juveniles, by paying Rs 3000.The APP submitted that during the course of investigation, DTO Churachandpur verified that the driving licenses were fake.
The IO of the case, through APP, prayed for judicial custody of the female and to send the two juveniles to observation home for smooth investigation of the case.
On the other hand, the defense counsel of the Myanmar Nationals submitted that two of them are minors who have not completed the age of 18 years but could not produce any reliable documents.
After hearing the submission of the APP and the counsel of the Myanmar National, the Court remanded Dimkhawlnuam to judicial custody remand and sent the two juveniles to observation home till May 5 .
