RPF conveys Eid greetings

Imphal, August 19, 2012:
On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and its army wing, People Liberation Army conveyed greeting to the people of Manipur specially the Muslim brethren.
In a statement by Secretary Publicity T Leisemba, RPF noted that Eid-ul-Fitr is a holy festival for the Muslim community around the world.
Fasting during the month of Ramzan is one of the fundamental duties of the Islam religion.
A celebration marked the end of fasting, which signifies total devotion to God and self-correction by controlling the mind and body.
On this occasion, all the Muslim people conduct Salatul Fajr before sunrise.
After taking bath, they go to the mosque for special prayer in the afternoon.
On the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, rich people also give away some of their belongings to the needy people, and it is known as Zakat-ul-Fitr.
Sharing some of their belongings with needy people is one of the principles of Muslim community, the statement explained.
RPF pointed out that not a single religion in the world endorses destruction of human society.
However, some people try to misinterpret the teachings of prophets, who advocated welfare for human race.
