Imphal, August 19, 2012:
"The never ending surrender drama and low politics played by Indian government is a well known fact, and it is trying to capture the people's movement for freedom with their fake peace talks", United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has observed, adding that it is high time for the people of Manipur understand the real motive behind such supposed peace talks.
In a statement issued by its Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba, the proscribed outfit categorically termed the news report on surrendering two cadres of different outfits to BSF as nothing but the same old surrender drama of Indian security forces.
T Boynao Simte alias Mangboi Simte of Thanlon of Churachandpur district, who is alleged to be a cadre of UNLF, is not at all related to the outfit.
However, he used to work for a unit of Maril Task Force until he ran away in 2005 and retired from the unit, the statement pointed out, while ridiculing the surrender drama where 73 persons were paraded before the media with their faces covered.
UNLF alleged that India Government has placed Manipur in the hands of the security forces and is playing very low politics.
One person who was released from jail on June 13 was abducted by AR personnel and kept him in their custody only to announce after a long time that peace talks have been initiated.
This type of low politics would never bear any fruit.
