Irregularity irks CNPO, asks for adherence to ethics

CNPO in an office visit on June 26, found that more than 15 departmental offices were locked.
Most DLOs and staffs, report says, did not turn up for work while many offices were running without proper maintenance.
The CNPO today has called for regularity of all DLOs with immediate effect.
Speaking to the media, Information and publicity secretary M John Chothe said that sericulture, Economy & Statistics, TD, PWD, Employment Exchange, DIC, Post Office, PHED, NYK, DYASO, CMO, Agriculture, Electricity, Social welfare and Minor Irrigation departments were found closed during the inspection.
A fresh round of surprised visit to the same offices shall be executed by CNPO Development Monitoring Cell anytime, says M John to assess the regularity and development as a preparatory measure.
The Cell will discuss the issue with the Governor of Manipur VK Duggal in his second visit to the district on October, added John Chothe.
Informing the observation and finding of the inspecting team of an ongoing construction work for installation of power sub-station in Chandel, John Chothe said that sub standard materials were used in the construction work.
He also pointed out that the construction works for go-down cum laboratory, Fishery department is moving on at a snails' pace.
The secretary appealed the contractor concerned for the completion of work at the earliest.
He also urged to begin construction work for veterinary building in Chakpikarong and New Chayang village shortly.
Citing a speculation of Chandel DC Th Chittaranjan Singh who is likely to be transfered from Chandel his completion of 3 years in office, the Chandel people would be grateful to have a non local or Manipuri IAS officer as the new DC, John Chothe further added.
