In its on-going campaign to check selling and abuse of drugs and liquors, the All Manipur Anti-Drug Assn (AMADA), Bishnupur District Council has been successful in seizing 1000 litres of country made liquor along with brewing materials like vessels, hamei, chaknam etc from 28 persons belonging to Ningthoukhong, Phubala, Toupokpi, Upokpi, Thinungei, Sunusiphai, Ngangkhalawai and Thanga Karang since July 16.A statement issued by AMADA informed that all the seized liquor and materials were consigned to flames today at the premises of the AMADA Bishnupur District Council.
Disclosing that many of the bootleggers nabbed in the recent drive were repeatedly pulled up earlier, it said that stronger actions would be initiated against them, it noted.
Declaring that further intensive drive would be launched all over Bishnupur district, it appealed to all the clubs, Meira Paibis and the general public of the district to cooperate with AMADA against drug abuse and liquor consumption, added the statement.
