Imphal, Jul 23:
A general body meeting of the All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Part Time Lecturers' Association was held today at Tamphasana Girls' Higher Secondary School to discuss the problems being faced by the part time lecturers.
The meeting presided over by L Jugindro Singh strongly condemned the failure of the State Government to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed in April 2005 with regard to giving minimum basic pay to the part time lecturers as per the ROP and resolved to exert pressures on the Chief Minister and other relevant authorities in this connection.
In view of the problems and plight being faced by the family members of the part time lecturers who are posted in far off places in meeting the daily expenditure with the meagre salary of Rs 4000 and that also not regularly, today's meeting discussed to approach the State Government for relaxing the part time lecturers from transferring/posting in far off places.
On the better note, the meeting concluded with the resolution that the part time lecturers would continue to work hard and put their best efforts for ushering in quality education in Manipur as well as for the welfare of the people.
