Imphal, January 03 2015 :
All India Trinamool Congress(AITC) vice-president and social worker MI Khan donated ten electric poles to Kyamgei Muslim Takhok Makha, Keirao Assembly Constituency today.
Speaking at the function, MI Khan said that efforts to provide the electric poles were initiated before the poles were renamed under the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd.
Due to failure of power cables, locals of Kyamgei Muslim Takhok Makha have been utilizing 6mm steel rod on trees and bamboos to avail electricity at every household.
As a result, many animals have been electrocuted while some locals were left injured.
The village suffers from inadequate water supply and have to depend on Kongba river for daily chores.
Repairing of Pali Kachin-Takhok road which connects the village to the rest of the places was undertaken.
However, the construction halted after blacktopping just half of the one kilometer road.
Khan said apart from constructing a pond to solve the water scarcity problem, a playground will also be constructed.
He further assured of extending possible assistance for the development of the village.
