Imphal, September 29 2018:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has conveyed that the onus of resolving the prolonged impasse at Manipur University now lies in the hand of the university community, the State and the Central Governments.
AMUCO secretary publicity, in a statement issued today, lamented that the unrest in the university which has vitiated academic atmosphere and jeopardised academic careers of thousands of students, is rather unfortunate.
He claimed that the only way to solve the matter is for both the parties to take a step back, relax their positions and reconcile so as to come to a positive understanding.
The power to drag this problem further or to end it, lies in the hands of the Government as well, he said and added that different organizations and political parties should also extend maximum cooperation.
AMUCO also appealed to the authorities concerned to create a situation where both the parties can come for a proper negotiation, after releasing the arrested teachers and students of Manipur University, to make the university a disturbance and problem free zone.
AMUCO feels that it is the only way to bring an end to the university crisis, he asserted.
