The National Nutrition Mission also known as Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan, a flagship programme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt of India which ensures convergence with various programmes concluded today on a positive note at Conference Hall, ADC Sadar Hills Kangpokpi DHQs.
The Prime Minister's overarching scheme for Holistic Nutrition was launched in Kangpokpi District on September 4 by Dr Rangitabali Waikhom (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi in a 'Go To Village' programme held at Bongmol village.
The District Administration under Dr Rangitabali Waikhom in close coordination with Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi under Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman ADC Sadar Hills had implemented various action that can be a game changer for fast track and successful implementation of the Mission in the district As a part of the mission, Growth monitoring, organizing Annaprasana, counseling to family members, community on IYCF, maternal nutrition, health & hygiene, Early childhood and Education Day (ECCE) in AWCs were held in all PHCs, AWCs in the district from September 5 to 8 with the participation of CMO (DHS), ICDS, CEO-SHADC and all SDOs/SDMs.
Anemia screening camps for pregnant women and children with counseling, organizing events to bring together adolescent girls to engage in a discussion on anemia and the importance of consuming IFA tablets, awareness camp on nutrition, personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, sanitation, health & hygiene, safe drinking water along with live demonstration and awareness campaign on importance of washing hands and healthy eating were conducted from September 10 to 13 in all Schools, PHCs and AWCs with the participation of CEO-SHADC, CMO (DHS), ICDS, ZEO and all SDOs/SDMs.
Swachhta campaign (Cleanliness & Social Work) at District Headquarters was held on September 14 with the participation of all DLOs along with SHADC Kpi while District level Food Mela was organized on September 15 at Kangpokpi DHQs by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council with participation of all members of ADC Sadar Hills and District Convergence Plan Committee.
Village Health Nutrition Day, immunization and distribution of IFA tablets, awareness programme for pregnant women and lactating mother on healthy diet and eat right at AWC in the presence of ASHAs, ANMs and AWWs, home visit by AWWs, ASHAs, ANMs to pregnant and lactating women were conducted from September 17 to 21 with participation of CEO-SHADC, CMO (DHS), PHED and all SDOs/SDMs.
Painting and essay competition in connection with Poshan Abhiyan was conducted at Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Sapormeina, JNV Kangpokpi and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyala, Ekou Saikul on September 22 while awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana to pregnant mothers, fathers, relatives, village leaders, self-help groups, youth leaders, adolescent girls, students of Class VHI-X was conducted while promotion of Kitchen garden schools and AWCs, an event on importance of diverse complementary diet for children over 6 months of ages was also conducted in all Sub Divisional HQs during September 24 to 27 .
Promotion of drumstick/local medicinal herbs and vegetables through plantation and awareness on organic farming and plantation of other nutritive vegetables was conducted at EMRS, Gamnom Sapormeina with the participation of all members of Kangpokpi District Convergence Plan Committee and Principal and staffs of EMRS on September 28.The closing ceremony of National Nutrition Mission was held at Conference Hall, ADC Sadar Hills in the presence of Dr Rangitabali Waikhom (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Thangjakam Misao, Vice-Chairman ADC Sadar Hills, elected Councilors of ADC Sadar Hills, T Manihar Singh (MCS), Chief Executive Officer, SHADC Kpi, Chinnu Kipgen, Inspector, Thangjalal Touthang, DIS (HQ)-SHADC Kpi/Nodal Officer (NNM).
Daili Village Store, KWWO Store and Yaikongpao Women Society were awarded the first, second and third best stall in the Food Mela held on September 15 while winners of Essay Writing and Painting Competition were also awarded during the closing ceremony.
THOUBAL: The month long observation of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah which was launched on September 4 concluded today while a Mela was also held at Mini Secretariat, Thoubal.
Speaking at the occasion Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Haobam Rosita said the month long observation was conducted to give awareness to the adolescent girl, pregnant women and lactating mothers about the importance of nutrition, health and hygiene.
In the Mela, about ten stalls from different department including ICDS, CMO, FSA, DCPO, PHED, CAF & PD, ZEO and Nehru Yuva Kendra were opened to show the various activities of each department Earlier in the day, a rally was also flagged off by Deputy Commissioner from Thoubal Mela Ground which was participated by school students and Anganwadi workers and ended at the Mini Secretariat Complex.
ADM Thoubal L Radhakanta and DLOs of different department also attended the function.
