New Delhi, October 21 2013:
The three persons arrested on charge of drug trafficking on October 2 and who are currently under the custody of Delhi police were produced before the NDPS (Special Cell of Delhi Police and NCB) Court in New Delhi today.
The trio Md Asghar alias Akser, Md Asker alias Shaker and Abdul Kalam were arrested from Jamia Nagar in East Delhi.
The court proceeding could not take place as the session Judge did not grant permission to conduct the interrogation by SP/NAB S Gautam from Imphal.
The Session Judge, Anu Grover Baliga stated that interrogation could not be permitted since the Imphal SP/ NAB was not the IO who had arrested the three accused nor in-charge of the case.
The police representative was neither familiar with the case, who had come to the Singjamei police station (to his notice) about 2 days after the arrest.
The next date for hearing has been fixed for November 1 .
It may be recalled that the Special Cell of the Delhi police caught the trio along with over 200 kgs of drugs worth Rs 10 crore in the international market.
