State Cinematographer wins DoP award

The Director of Photography International Award has been conferred to Potsangbam Priyananda Singh for his contribution in the documentary film 'Dare to be Different' .
Potsangbam Priyananda Singh (20) is the son of (L) P Pumananda Singh and Khwairakpam (N) Potsangbam (O) Sunita of Keisamthong Longjam Leirak.
He was awarded with the title of Director of Photography in Noida National Film-Festival ceremony in which his documentary 'Dare to be Different' was also shown.
The award consisted a medal, cash award, memento and a certificate.
The 6 minutes long documentary film is about a South Indian namely John Abrahim from Mumbai, who shelters children who have lost their parents, in his orphanage.
These children are the deprived children of the society who beg for their living on railway platforms.
The film showed how Abrahim helped these children in making their lives meaningful by upbringing them to become a respectable person.
After upbringing many children the orphanage home now shelters 39 children.
The Cinematographer of the film, Priyananda is presently studying BSc in Animation & VFX in Z-Institute of Creative Arts, Mumbai (ZICA) after completing a 6 months course on Cinematography from Z-Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA).
He is determined to produce more feature films and documentaries in future.
