TPR remains high as state logs 8 deaths, 527 new cases

Daily test positivity rate (TPR) remains above 10 per cent for three consecutive days as the state reported 527 new positive cases out of just 4491 samples along with eight fatalities on Sunday.
The daily test capacity is also seeing a decreasing trend after the aggressive mass testing ended in Imphal West district.
With the addition of 527 new cases and 444 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the active caseload in the state has reached 9613 out of which 2840 are in home isolation and remaining 5152 are in CHICs.
There are 707 in different hospitals and out of them 334 patients including 37 post-Covid patients are on oxygen support and 36 on ventilator support.
The different Covid Care Centres have 914 patients with 73 of them on oxygen support.
So far, the state has recorded 35,877 positive cases and 692 death cases since the beginning of the current year.
The current month saw an addition of 13,314 new cases and 240 fatalities while 4213 new cases and 73 fatalities were added in the last seven days.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 8 (4 males & 4 females) Covid-19 deaths.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (1).Four patients died at JNIMS, two at DH Thoubal and one each at RIMS and DH Churachandpur.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1047 .
Five victims were below 60 years of age and four did not have any co-morbid conditions.
Two of them died within 24 hours of arriving at hospital and one within 48 hours.
According to official reports, all the 527 new cases (262 males & 265 females) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (30), JNIMS (20), District Hospitals (331) and other testing centres (146).The positive cases are from Imphal East (78), Imphal West (169), Thoubal (62), Bishnupur (66), Kakching (51), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (45), Chandel (3), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (9), Tengnoupal (3), Kangpokpi (20), Kamjong (1), Noney (1) and Jiribam (7).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
Out of the 444 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, 288 were under home isolation, 30 from RIMS, 12 from JNIMS and the rest 114 from other Covid care facilities.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 64,065 (general population - 60,263 and CAPF personnel - 3,802).Number of recovered cases is 53,405 (general population - 49,644 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) and number of active cases is 9,613 (general population - 9,577 and CAPF personnel - 36).The recovery rate is 83.36 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1643 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 367 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 436D and 109B filled cylinders.
Dis-trict/sub-division wise oxygen provisions as on Sunday is Bishnupur (118D,7B), Chandel (34D,9B), Churachandpur (65D,0B), Senapati (48D,0B), Thoubal (36D,31B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (18D,1B), Jiribam(35D,13B) Moreh (25D,9B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (8D,18B), Noney (2D,0B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), and CCCs (192D, 51B).As of Saturday, 4,93,501 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and 82,217 of them have got their second dose.
Meanwhile, 36 new positive cases were detected out of 195 samples tested in Kakching district on Sunday.
One case was detected at Ema Hospital, six at Jivan Hospital and 29 at government RAT Centre.
All of them are residents of Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (22,587), Imphal East (14,464), Thoubal (5180), Churachandpur (5000), Kangpokpi (1638), Tamenglong (2054), Bishnupur (3838), Senapati (1362), Ukhrul (1356), Kakching (3041), Chandel (1086), Noney 550), Tengnoupal (667), Jiribam (709), Kamjong (431) and Pherzawl (102).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (387), Imphal East (276), Thoubal (98), Churachandpur (83), Kangpokpi (26), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (6d9), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (55), Chandel (14), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 20,646 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,487 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,76,234 tests per million population against the national average of 2,80,685 TPM.
Case fatality rate declined to 1.63 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 4491 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 11.73 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.47 per cent.
