Imphal, January 19, 2012:
The proscribed UG group RPF in a press statement today urged the people of the state to refrain from taking part in the ensuing elections to the 10th Manipur State Legislative Assembly stating that the election is a mere process of the Centre to extend its diktat to the state government.
In the statement, RPF observed that the elections in the state have lost its quality with politicians thinking only of their own good, swindling public funds and ignoring the development of the state.
Even if a candidate promises to address the issues facing the people, he or she forgets the promises once elected and become a puppet of the India government executed by the public representatives for the sake of the people.
Till now, no major developments can be seen in the state.
Alleging that the representatives elected by the people do not perform their duty as representatives of the people but as representatives of the Centre for their own benefits, RPF further stated that no government which ruled in the state tried to remove the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the state.
It further added that many persons apart from .the politicians are also putting hard efforts in the election and asked them to stop such foolish act for some mere benefits.
When people of the state are living their lives in hell, they should not encourage such colonial process of the India government.
Instead, they should think of ways to liberate the state from the clutch of India government, it added.
