Justice for Farooque demand continues

Demanding justice for Farooque who was lynched by an irate mob on September 13 at Tharoijam Awang Leikai on charge of vehicle theft, Anjuman Islah-e Muashra and Madrassa Darul Uloom Marakaz Lilong Haoreibi organised a peaceful rally at Lilong today.
The rally started from the premises of Madrassa Darul Uloom Marakaz to Lilong Bazar.
Speaking to media persons, Md Habibullah, secretary of Anjuman Islah-e Muashra appealed the authorities concerned and the Government to deliver justice and make known the report of the SIT investigating the case to the public.
He reminded that the Government had agreed to form SIT and give befitting punishment to the culprits involved within a month.
However, there has been no clear development regarding the case till now, he said condemning the 'silence' of the Government.
Condemning mob lynching and violence, he urged the State Government to understand the sentiment of the people, act swiftly and deliver justice at the earliest without fail.
"Justice in this case will go a long way in deterring future occurrence of such cases in the State.
Show people that there is a law above all," he said demanding speedy conduction of the investigation and trial to award punishment to the culprits involved.
Students of Madrassa Darul Uloom and people of the area raised slogans against the killing and mob violence/lynching at the rally.
