Nemcha Kipgen distributes PPEs to frontline workers

Kangpokpi, May 09 2020:
Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen visited Kangpokpi DHQs and met with the frontline workers of COVID-19 deployed in the district.
Bringing a huge quantity of PPE kits, the Minister met the Chief Medical Officer, Police personnel and representative of district administration Kangpokpi at CMO Kangpokpi office at Kangpokpi DHQs.
Dr T Nilakanta Singh, CMO Kangpokpi, Dr Paotinlal Haokip, in-charge Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kangpokpi represented the medical department and Addl SP (Ops) Lalminlen Misao and Inspector Khogen, Officer-in-Charge Kangpokpi Police Station represented the police department while Kaigoulal Kipgen, Assistant Commissioner to Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi represented the district administration, Kangpokpi.
Around 350 PPE kits (Sitra & CE certified) which includes hooded coverall suits, face masks, hand gloves, safety eye wears, shoe covers and biodegradable bags were handed over to the Chief Medical Officer.
The Minister also distributed 20 sets of PPE kits to Addl SP (Ops), Kangpokpi Lalminlen Misao for the Police department and another 10 sets of PPE kits to Kaigoulal Kipgen, AC to DC Kangpokpi for the district administration.
Nemcha also provided 10 sets of PPE kits to Kamgougin Lunkim, vice president Kangpokpi Youth Union.
Speaking to media persons, Nemcha Kipgen said that health workers and the police personnel need to be taken care off properly as they are risking their lives for humanity amid the COVID crisis.
While exhorting the frontline workers, Nemcha Kipgen motivated them to fight the pandemic fearlessly and conquered it for the people.
She also appreciated and highlighted the important role played by the media personnel and committed civil society organizations leaders in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19.Local senior journalist Kaybie Chongloi was also provided one set of PPE kit through the CMO Kangpokpi by the Minister apart from two bags of rice and one bag of dal.
Meanwhile, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen installed two protective screening booths at FCI Godown Ningthoupham and Brig M Thomas Ground Kangpokpi.
Later, the Minister also inspected the mandap (community hall) constructed at Kangpokpi DHQs.
