ICMR to study JE

A team of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) would be visiting the State soon to study outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) which has been reported from different parts of the State.
Health Director Dr O Ibomcha told The Sangai Express that the ICMR would send an expert team to the State tomorrow.
Apart from JE, the expert team would conduct studies on Malaria and Dengue.
The Director informed that the infection rate of JE has been declining steadily.
Notably, out of 31 positive JE cases detected in the State, four persons have succumbed.
Meanwhile, the Department of Ayush has initiated due measures to make Belladonna tablets available to public which is said to be helpful in minimising JE infection.
