Six more test positive to take total cases to 89

The State recorded six more COVID-19 positive cases during the last 24 hours taking the total tally to 89, while 15 recovered.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, three individuals were tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS and three others at JNIMS since late last night till the time of filing this report.
Of the three who tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS, one is a 50 year old male resident of Imphal West district and he returned from Mumbai.
The other is a 26 year old female resident of Thoubal district and she returned from Delhi.
The third one is the wife of former international boxer Ng Dingko.
She is 36 years old and she came back with her husband from Delhi recently.
All the three who tested positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS are all females and they are residents of Imphal East district.
While two of them came back from Delhi, the third one returned from Pune.
All of them have been taken into the COVID care facilities of RIMS and JNIMS, and their health conditions are said to be stable.
On the other hand, the residents of Churachandpur district including a 35 day old baby who tested positive for COVID-19 on May 20 tested negative for the contagion at JNIMS last night.
As such, they were discharged from the hospital today.
They came back from Chennai before they were tested positive.
This takes the tally of recovered patient in Churachandpur district to 4 and active cases to 17 even as the district has seen no new cases for close to a week in a row, reports our CCpur correspondent.
A statement issued by the district COVID-19 control room identified the patients recovering from COVID-19 as the 1.6-month-old male child, his 25-year-old mother and a 19-year-old girl.
All three are Chennai returnees and tested positive on May 20 .
Altogether 136 samples from the Churachandpur have been tested for COVID-19 today with the entire samples returning negative.
Today, 296 new samples are collected from various CQCs while 46 clients are discharged from various CQCs.
With the recovery of the three patients and 12 more from other districts, the total number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 has reached 26 which means the total number of active cases as of Tuesday is 63 .
While the three are from Churachandpur, the other 12 recovered patients include 5 from Thoubal, 4 from Imphal West and one each from Kakching, Imphal East and Jiribam.
