NSU site to be called Haraothen

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Letpao Haokip has announced that the site of the National Sports University will be known as Haroathen.
The Minister made the statement while addressing a press conference at the conference hall of Old Secretariat, Imphal, today.
The stakeholders including the chiefs of Koutruk, Haraothen ,Senjam Chirang and Senjam Khunou villages, National Sports University Haroathen' Protection Committee and a students' organization were invited for discussion today.
During the press conference, the Minister clarified to all those present that the land acquisition for the site of National Sports University was already agreed in principle with all the stakeholders and there is no case of favouritism in naming the site as Haraothen.
The Minister appealed to the stakeholders to resolve all the differences and to welcome the establishment of the National Sports University in the area as it is for the welfare of the people of the State and will especially help transforming the athletes of the State into world class athletes apart from training youth in various field of sports.
The Minister also invited all the stakeholders for further discussion if they have doubts or require any forms of clarification regarding the construction of the National Sports University at Haraothen.
