The villagers disapproved the Revenue Minister's statement and showed a gazette notification issued on March 23, 1999 which shows that the village falls under Kangchup SDC Circle.
The villagers also showed copies of electoral roll in support of their claim.

Hoihoi, wife of Haraothel village chief Haotinmang Vaiphei said that the villagers have no grudge against establishment of National Sports University there.
The villagers would have highly appreciated the Government's initiative if due demarcation was done and compensation paid to affected people before starting the university construction works.
But it is a matter of serious concern that a considerable area has been allotted to Sports Department after overlooking all the usual procedures, Hoihoi said.
Without proper demarcation and land acquisition, the Government has started constructing compound fence, Hoihoi said.
She went on to ask if gazette notification has been issued regarding allotment of land for National Sports University to Sports Department.
