Co-operative Week concludes

The 61st All India Cooperative Week celebration 2014 came to an end at ICM complex, Lamphelpat today.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Social Welfare and Co-operation Minister AK Mirabai directed the officials and staff of the Co-operative Department to utilize the funds in a proper manner.
The Minister also urged the loanees, who took loan from the Department, to repay it on time.
She said that people of Thoubal district have shown their work culture by receiving the award instituted by the Department for seven consecutive years.
Co-operative Commissioner Moses Chalai, who attended the function as guest of honour, said that defunct co-operative societies must be activated to enhance the economy of the State.
Among others, Uripok AC MLA L Nandakumar, Co-operative Societies Registrar Thaithuilung Pamei and NCUI Project Co-ordination Committee Chairman Jina Potshangbam were also present at the function as dignitaries.
On the other hand, the 61st All India Cooperative Week celebration 2014 was also held at Thoubal Mela Ground yesterday.
The week-long programme was celebrated under the theme, 'Cooperatives Model for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth' and further continued with discussions on the topic 'Co-Operative for Better Living' .
Social Welfare and Co-operation Minister Ak Mirabai, Khangabok AC MLA Okram Landhoni Devi, Commissioner of Co-operation, K Moses Chalai graced the function as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Awards were presented to the staff and co-operative society representatives at the function.
