Discrepancies on the pay structure of the Govt employees in Manipur have been detected yet again in the Manipur Services Revised Pay (Second Amendment Rules), 2006 which was brought following an order issued by the Finance Dept to rectify such discrepancies.
Taking up the matter in the Assembly today, MLAs Dr I Ibohanbi and Dr N Bijoy cautioned that such discrepancies might cause lot of confusion and conflict among the employees.
Moving the call attention motion, Dr Ibohanbi pointed out that pay scale of State Mass Media Officer in Family Welfare Dept is Rs 5500 whereas that of his sub-ordinate staff ODO Visual Officer is Rs 6500.So there is the need to review the Revised Pay rules.
Supporting the motion, MLA Dr Bijoy said there is more anomalies in the revised pay Rules which was taken up to rectify any existing pay anomaly.
On the basis of such discrepancies, if the employees start launching agitation at this juncture when the financial year is nearing completion it would cause more problem to the Govt, he observed.
In his response to the call attention motion, the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who is also in charge of Finance said there is no question of victimising the Government employees.
He also assured that the matter would be looked into and the new pay Rules reviewed if it is necessary.
