Atleast two persons have been killed while four others sustained injuries in two separate road related mishaps occurred at different parts of the State in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident, one person died while other four others sustained injuries when a Tata truck (MN01-4565) loaded with bamboo fell into a 400 feet deep gorge located in between Rengpang and Taodaijang village, 15 kms east of Nungba Police Station at around 1 pm yesterday.
The two deceased person has been identified as Hembuijang (45) of Khongsang while the injured persons as Phungjanang (45), Gaigonglung (18), Keinesung (38) and Dimthuilung (23), all of them are also residents of Khongsang.
Gaigonglung is the father of Keinesung.
Condition of Pungjanang is stated to be serious.
In the other incident, a motor cycle (Yamaha MN01Q/1599) borne youth died en route to RIMS Hospital where he was being brought for treatment after a head-on collision with another speedy Yamaha motor cycle at Phukao Iranpham Lai Mamang under Lamlai Police Station at around 4.30 pm yesterday.
The victim has been identified as Chabungbam Nanao (24) of Lamboikhul Awang Leikai.
The body has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem conducted at RIMS Hospital this afternoon.
