CCpur, February 10 2021:
A sit-in protest was staged today by the Kuki Women Organization For Human Rights (KWOFHR) at Churachandpur, urging the Chief Minister to uphold the Court's verdict on Lhukhosei Zou and not to appeal the case at a higher Court on the dictates of a handful of agitators.
Addressing media persons, KWOFHR stated that the State would be burdened with unnecessary multiple appeal cases in the future if a Court's verdict could be appealed by a handful of people agitating over it.

Moreover, it will set a bad precedent in governance and the rule of law.
KWOFHR also alleged that in spite of several appeals made by various hill based organisations to maintain communal harmony and give chance to the State Government to ponder, these politically instigated CSOs are still trying to hold the Government to ransom.
Lhukhosei Zou is innocent as proven by the trial Court.
Media trials and mob justice has no place in society.
We must have faith in the institution of the Government, it added.
Placards including 'Lhukhosei Zou is innocent', 'Stop Harassing Lhukhosei Zou', 'Respect the verdict of the Court', etc were raised during the protest.
