Biswajit bats for conducive environment for youth

Imphal, January 28 2021:
It is everyone's responsibility to create a protective and conducive environment for the youth in the Sate, said Works Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh today.
He said the present Government led by N Biren Singh is also committed to providing the same for the youth of the State.
The Minister was speaking on the 10th day of the XXII Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM) today at the Daphao Ground, Purul, Senapati district.
Biswajit, who declared open the Naga indigenous wrestling today, said, "Indigeneity relates with one's identity.
Our indigenous games are our identity and we should protect and preserve them".
Stating that he believes in the popular adage "Position without responsibility is meaningless", the Minister said every leader needs to understand their responsibility and act accordingly.
Speaking on the importance of developing human resources, Biswajit said that education nurtures human resources and any natural resource can't be utilised without developing human resources.
Education is needed to bring about sustainable development and eradicate poverty.
He also said that India has huge potential as a major part of its population comprises of youths.
Biswajit also expressed happiness in learning that the local entrepreneurs are producing kiwi fruit juice in the area.
He explained several schemes of the Government to uplift the poor and educate youth.
He said the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana is a part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission which will help the rural poor and train youth in various vocational skills.
He talked about the Manipur Start-Up and Stand-Up Manipur schemes and said these schemes encourage the youth to become entrepreneurs and help face unemployment issue.
Entrepreneurs create employment opportunities, he added.
Meanwhile, responding to memorandum submitted by different organisations seeking installation of transformer, road development and others, Biswajit assured to look into the issues and improve the inter village road within Poumai Purul village.
The function was also attended by Karong AC MLA DD Thaisii, DC Senapati Kirankumar among others.
