Anti-drug day observed at Ukhrul, Jiri

The 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR and leading frontal organizations of Ukhrul Town observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26 at Ukhrul during which a number of events were conducted as part of the observance function.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, lecture cum presentation to spread awareness at Ukhrul Talkies, peaceful march cum rally in Ukhrul Town comprising of children, youth and social organisations and awareness programme to sensitize and educate the youth at Community Caf� Hall Ukhrul were organised.
The population of Ukhrul was grateful to Assam Rifles for conducting the event as they are also assisting in their drive against the same and swore support in making Ukhrul a drug free town.
At the same time, Jiribam joined the rest of the world in International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observance yesterday, our Jiri correspondent reports.
The observance programme was jointly organised by Social Welfare Office, Jiribam; Child Welfare Ashram, Jiribam and Jiribam Civil Police at Jiri Town Hall.
The programme was attended by Y Iboyaima.
