Remand for accused

The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West today remanded senior marketing executive of Birla Emporium, Kshetrimayum Ningol Ngangkham Ongbi Sanajaobi (52) to 4 days police custody for allegedly stealing CPU containing important files and documents from her firm's office at RIMS road.
Sanajaobi, wife of Ng Loken of Khurai Konsam Leikai was produced before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West today with the IO of the case praying for police custody remand to ensure smooth investigation.
The case was registered at Imphal police station based on a complaint lodged by founder CEO of Birla Emporium Pvt Ltd, Yumnam Irabanta on April 24.Irabanta, in his complaint, alleged that the accused (Sanajaobi), in collusion with some of her co-workers and other unknown persons have stolen the CPU containing many important files and documents of Birla Emporium.
It was also stated that their act of theft has been recorded on a CCTV camera.
The IO of the case submitted to the Court that the accused surrendered before the police station and admitted the charges levelled against her during preliminary interrogation.
The accused had also disclosed that she could assist in the recovery of the CPU and relevant files, the IO submitted while continuing that a CPU has been seized from the accused but some files and documents were still yet to be recovered.
The IO thus prayed the Court to remand the accused into police custody for four days to ascertain more facts and motive behind the crime.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded the accused to police custody till April 30 .
