CM takes stock of Covid situation

Chief Minister N Biren Singh today reviewed COVID-19 situation in the State via a video conference with Deputy Commissioners of districts.
The meeting came amid the surge in coronavirus cases in the State.
During the conference, the Chief Minister mainly enquired the Deputy Commissioners about the number of active cases, home isolation patients, vaccination and preparations going on for reactivation of COVID-19 Care Centres.
He instructed them to be prepared for the possible situation coming in the next two months.
The Chief Minister also asked them to submit detailed reports on their activities, preparations and inadequacies to the Principal Secretary (Health) and his office.
Cautioning that everybody should be very careful now as the new strain of the coronavirus is stated to be airborne, the Chief Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners to properly check whether the home isolation patients are kept isolated from other family members.
The Chief Minister also instructed them to lodge the patients under home isolation at Covid Care Centres if the officials are convinced that the households concerned do not have required amenities like separate toilets and rooms.
N Biren Singh also directed them to institute Covid Awareness cum Enforcement Committees of different Assembly Constituencies and do the needful to reactivate Covid Care Centres at the earliest.
He also stressed on the need to crosscheck Covid negative reports of those entering the State from different entry points.
The Chief Minister also instructed the DCs to intensify vaccination, raise more awareness and penalize SOP violators stringently.
