Jiri scribe calls of cease work strike

All Jiribam Working Journalists Union (AJWJU) called off the cease strike for the time being as the Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam and SP assured that appropriate action will be taken against the Commando personnel involved in the harassment of S Roshimala within 15 days.
The assurance was given during a meeting held in the office of DC of Jiribam yesterday attended by the SP and a team led by president in charge of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) and representatives of AJWJW to discuss the matter where S Roshimala, general secretary of AJWJU and a correspondent of ISTV was harassed by a Commando personnel attached at Jiribam District Police on April 25.Later a meeting of the executive body of AJWJU was convened today at its office and resolved to call off the cease work strike for the time being.
However if appropriate action is not taken against the commando personnel concerned by the Higher Authority within 15 days, AJWJU will resort to stringent form of agitations, said a statement of the union.
