Resign: TC to VC

Imphal, June 24 2018: Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee (MPTCC) has demanded the immediate resignation of Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Adya Prasad Pandey for his failure to bring an end to the present fiasco in the University, said a press release issued by MPTCC.

The MU is in turmoil for the last many days and the normal academic atmosphere has been affected due to the whimsical attitude on the part of VC Pandey, it added.

MPTCC also alleged that the VC is trying to saffronize the University by encouraging a particular student body with Sangh Parivar background.

MPTCC further alleged that the VC has turned a deaf ear to the appeal and demands of the Manipur University Students Union (MUSU) to streamline the administration of the University while refusing the genuine demands of MUSU to appoint and fill the vacant post of Registrar, Examination Controller and Finance officer of the University on regular basis.

The VC rather appointed his henchmen to these important positions to keep the whole affair of administration under his control.

MPTCC while pointing out that a series of controversy has emerged ever since Prof Adya Prasad Pandey assumed charge as VC of Manipur University said that the academic activities have completely put on hold.

The impasse in the university has marred the process of admission and delayed the declaration of examination results jeopardising the careers and lives of the students.

MPTCC demanded the immediate resignation of VC arguing that the continuance of his service is against the interest of Manipur University.

MPTCC also drew the attention of the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javedkar to bring an end to the present deadlock and save the careers and future of the students.

MPTCC further sought the intervention of Chief Minister N Biren Singh to chalk out a solution to the present disruption in the University to help restore normal academic atmosphere in the campus.
